We’ve all had the experience of learning a new word and then, unexpectedly, hearing and seeing it everywhere. Or maybe it was having a particular tree or plant identified for us, or a star pointed out in the sky. Before we didn’t see it and now we see it all the time.
But it is also true that languages that are no longer spoken begin to dissapear and die. We come in fluent in the signs and symbols fo the dead and are slowly taught to forget that which we have known effortlessly. Our “invisible” friends eventually evaporate, our childlike knowing that at any moment we might become an animal again or speak to the animals in our households is put away in the box with our discarded toys, the memories we brought into this world slowly slip into the silt of our unconscious.
If, however, we live in a culture where the dead are present and ready to collaborate, where every soul not just human souls has a story to tell, where our own souls are immeasurably long and hold secret treasures—then we need never stop know how alive all the world really is, how much we belong to this world that we will never leave, how beloved and worth of love we really are.
To shift our belief-sphere it helps to tell stories about our experiences with the other side , our dreams and reveries, our imaginings nad wonderings. At Monthly Magic we offer a safe, confidential community for sharing and rediscovering these knowings that are our birthright. Come to listen. Come to share. Come to ask questions. But most of all come to have awakened within you a way of knowing that transcends death and rebirths us into wonders and magic.
