I’m writing a book that’s an eco-feminist tempest to reorganize the patriachy. We can’t just replace pronouns, god with goddess, male lineages with female lineages—we need to manifest an entirely different belief-sphere, what I have begun to call the matri-sphere, with a pun on mattress because it’s a softer place to lend that will renew us with both love and dreams. How can we let go entirely of montheism and its homogenizing tyrannies? How can we recover the wild efflorrescense of the natural world that doesn’t make one kind of beetle or apple or flower, but thousands? Because creative diversity is not just resilient but playful. Vive la difference! What if the opposite of god is not goddess but…everything?
Then how do you have only one voice in your book about all this?
You just can’t.
I need YOU, my readers, my friends, my allies, my sisters to help me with this book. Over the next nine months I am going to be putting out a call for submissions. I’ll be offering a writing prompt and choosing various pieces (with your formal permission) to include with my own. This book needs many voices, many mothers. Kuan Yin has a thousand hands after all.
