Oh Perdita, this fills me with joy. Thank you <3 I'm going to intersperse prayers into my workday today. "When we hobble to the grotto with our petitions, we are not asking to have the Lady or the ancestors prove to us they are real—we are asking for a renewal of faith in the long story of our souls through deep time." Wow. Nothing could be a bigger miracle than that.

My timing in reading this was perfect. I had been pondering an issue with a relative, and my thoughts opened up to realize how small

we often let our worlds be, afraid or unable to expand and include more. That heart opening is one of the miracles that can happen.

I love this subject and I love your lush writing about it. Very magical. As far as your daddy's depression, I was assured by a psychic one time, (then also read about it) that people are born with a tendency toward either positive or depressive personalities. She told me I had always been depressed. When I protested, she said that I have managed mine over the years fairly well. I pondered that and discussed it with friends for many weeks, months even, and concluded that she was right. Your daddy likely was born into depression, and didn't know how to manage it. That must have been hard for such a magical little girl. So glad it didn't dim your lovely, shining light.
